Overseas Applicants - Live-In Caregiver Program


The Program: applicants are assessed and medicaled to work in Canada prior to issuance of Live-in Caregiver Work Permit. After successful completion of 24 months of full time employment the Caregiver has the opportunity to apply for Landed Status.

Qualifications

  • Fluent in one or both of Canada's official languages - English or French
  • Education minimum equivalency to Canadian Grade 12, Commonwealth/Caribbean/Africa: 5 passing grades GCE/CXC. Philippines: Grade 12 plus minimum 2 year college program; other Countries: High School graduation.
  • Minimum one year work realted experience, a minimum of 6 months with same employer, paid employment with verifiable references. Employment must be within the past 24 months and/or 6 months certified training, college recognised by Country of origin Ministry of Education and Canadian High Commision. Certified Practical Nurse, Nursing Aide, Registered Nurse, Teacher, Nursery/Kindergarten Teacher qualify.
  • Age 18 thru 54
  • Ability to pass a Canada Immigration Assessment, Medical and International Police Clearance.

Employment

  • To care for, within their own residence, children, senior and special needs
  • Work week: 5 days per week and/or shift pattern: 190 hours/C$1820.00 per month
  • Vacation: 2 weeks annual leave on completion of each 52 weeks of employment
  • Free Alberta Health Care, coverage commences upon arrival into Canada
  • Accommodation: Private furnished studio bedroom, inc: TV, etc.
  • Permitted to study, upgrade to Canadian equivalency, classes cannot conflict witih employment

How to Proceed


Contact overseas@nannycaregiver.ca include your name and address. An application form will be mailed. Prepare the following items while waiting to receive the application form.
A Nanny Conxion Registration requires:
  • A completed application
  • Items see Qualifications Point 2 & 3 - copies only of education/training certificates - include English translation
  • Items see Qualifications Point 3 - copies only of references, must include contact name, fax, telephone number or email
  • An essay of introduction detailing family background, hobbies and interests, your work related experience. Why you have chosen a career as a caregiver and reason for wanting to work in Canada. Do not beg or use any religious references, A professional essay, you are seeking employment and this essay is your key to employment selection.
  • Two to six (2 to 6) photos: one (1) full length personal photo; two (2) passport size and the other work related
  • Registration fee US$400
Should A Nanny Conxion believe you do not qualify; your file cannot be accepted and will be returned. You will be contacted, for assistance, due to inability to contact your references. You will be notified of acceptance and your file transferred to Caregivers Available for selection. Registration Fees are non refundable and do not guarantee instant placement. Personal interviews are scheduled twice (2) per year for Far East, Europe, Caribbean and South America. Personal Interviews are only granted to pre-screened Registered Applicants.
